Kitara Artist Support Program I
Kammerphilharmonie Sapporo Special Concert
The Lovely Relationship Between Ballet and Music Part 2
- KitaraPresents
- Small Hall
A message from the conductor, Shogo Isobe:
Two years have already passed since Part 1 of this concert was held in Nayoro in December 2022. Despite the heavy snow, the packed audience at the Nayoro concert erupted into a sensational round of applause. The emotional show is now returning to Sapporo, the orchestra’s home base.
Ballet is a visualization of music – Yes, ballet is music you see with your eyes.
About a century ago, the world of art that continues to the present day opened with the Ballets Russes. The gifted producer, Sergei Diaghilev, discovered not only dancers and choreographers but also young, nameless artists. Painters such as Picasso and Rouault became well-known to the world with art pieces created for the Ballets Russes. Composers including Ravel and Falla also made their names with musical pieces written for the ballet company. Stravinsky (composition) and Balanchine (choreography) were also among the young talents of the Ballets Russes.
This concert tonight will be a unique opportunity to experience their brilliant talent.
